Unconditional Love - Part 1
Cathy had always been a happy-go-lucky gal who simply loved to dance and sing. Not only was she an active member of her school choir, she was also a key dancer of the school Dance Club. Her helpful and cheerful disposition made her popular among her peers – both gals and guys alike. Though she is an only child, she is no spoiled brat. Rather, she is a daughter who brings much joy and laughter to her parents. Cathy, thus, seems to be the ideal girlfriend that any guy would want to have except that she has yet to meet one who would send her heart throbbing away. Though her friends had always teased her for being fastidious, she wasn’t overly concern. Believing strongly in fate, she awaited patiently for ‘Him’ to appear.
Being part of the combined school choir for the NDP, Cathy and her choir members had been putting in extra hours of practice for the past few months. Cathy was especially excited as she had always dreamt of performing in the NDP. On their first combined practice with choirs from the other schools, a voice caught Cathy’s keen ears. Turning towards the source, her eyes sparkled as bright as the spotlights on stage as she caught sight of the owner of that captivating voice. A guy who caused her heart to race away. The guy whom she had been waiting to meet. Tall, coolish-looking and more importantly, possessed a superb voice. She was so distracted that she missed a few notes and almost sang off key. Her good friend, Doris who was standing beside her and noticed Cathy's substandard performance, questioned her during the break. Cathy told her of her ‘discovery’ and even pointed him out from afar.
Cathy wasn’t able to get his suave face off her mind that night. Somehow, she couldn’t wait for their next meeting and decided to do something about it. Then an idea struck her. She decided to make a search for him in cyberspace. But how was she going to search for someone whose name she didn’t even know. Recalling the school uniform he was wearing, she did a Friendster search for his school. The search came up with about two hundred matches. Cathy took a quick glance at the pictures on the profiles, hoping to spot his face from among the photos posted. She wasn’t in luck. After scanning through the two hundred odd accounts, she failed to locate his. She regretted then, for not taking
